My great-great uncle, William "Bill" Hough on my father's side, was a boxer from London, born in the Rotherhithe/Bermondsey area in 1883. He fought in the featherweight division, often at Wonderland in Mile End or at the National Sporting Club in Covent Garden (43 King Street.) On the 15th February 1902 he defeated Harry Chamberlain, thus winning the belt for the 9st competition. Unfortunately he died in August the same year due to typhoid fever (aged 20), with no partner or offspring. While we have found many of his boxing records and newspaper articles online, pictures of Bill Hough seem to be impossible to find, despite having won the belt. We do have this one image, but we cannot validate that the picture is him. 1) Can anyone validate this photo for Bill Hough? If not, do you recognise it to be somebody else? 2) If anyone has any stories/pictures relating to Bill Hough or any of the locations where he boxed? Many thanks in advance

Just wanted to know if William Hough was related to Thomas(Tommy), Harry and Emma Hough who lived in Rotherhithe and I believe Harry also used to be an amateur boxer. My Grandma Emma's maiden name was Hough and and lived in somewhere near to or in Albion street when she was single I think her father may have been one of thirteen children who came from East London. Her married name was Tinsley and she then lived in Bermondsey.
