Having been a dealer buying and selling all things wierd and wonderful Im always on the lookout for next juicy purchase. Today something happened that really blew me away, I have a very good friend who alsobuys and sells many interesting items, so to cut an extremely long stong story short. My friend invited me over to his houseas he was going to clear out a load of stuff and wanted a second opinion on some of his treasures. he went to the back of his cupboard and passed me an old leather sachel looking at it I could see it was a brave age it had the initials HT on the front, as we began to excitedly rummage we foundan absolute shed load of signed photographs and picture postcards of champion boxers from the 1920's all signed to my dear friend. then we came across some handwritten notes that turned out to be manuscripts, then we found some typed manuscripts, that had been bound and the wording was double spaced just you do when your soliciting a manuscript to a publisher for proof reading, I know a little about this sort of thing, having dabbled in literature. Anyway the author was a Harry Tattersall a boxer come club bouncer In Blackburn Lancashire, there was a preface inscription, I have many champions but never been a champion, quite a modest quote, I spent the whole afternoon mulling over this fantastic find. I thought that while I am here I'll try submitting a cheeky bid for the items, to my surprise, he turned it down flat and announced he didnt want to sell it just wanted to do some research as here in this sachel is what looks like the guys lifes work. list of nameson potographs thumbing through these photographs
