If you're related to a British boxer from days gone by and would like to tell their story and preserve their achievements for others to read about, either post a note on this message board, or email us the details. Feel free to leave as much info on their background and boxing career as you want. We aim to tell the stories of as any many old-time British fighters as we can via www.boxinghistory.org.uk

Hi Mike, What a terrific photo! Thanks for uploading it. The Jackie Brown in the picture isn't world flyweight champion Jackie Brown (Manchester), but there were several other boxers who went by that name so I suspect it's one of them. There's a mini bio and fight record for Ernie Izzard here: boxinghistory.org.uk/records/ernie-izzard-hernehill.pdfYou may already know that Jack Goodwin published an excellent book in the '20s called 'Myself and My Boxers' - well worth getting hold of if you don't already have a copy. I've attached a photo of Ernie Izzard which I hope is a new one for you. Did you get a chance to meet your great uncle? Are there any stories or anecdotes about his boxing career that you could share? Attachments:

Hi Mike, Alex Just by way of introduction my name is Martin sax and I'm the grandson of the late Teddy Baldock World Bantamweight Champion. www.teddybaldock.co.ukI am pretty certain that the fighters sat in your picture are Johnny Brown the British Bantamweight Champion and his younger brother Young Johnny Brown, my grandfather fought both of them.

my grandad was Norman Snow, but recently i viewed an article on iron men of merthyr tydfill which gives a story of a boxer changed his name from norman morris to be called norman snow, He then took on my grandads record declaring to everyone and his family that he was the boxer Norman snow. But he was not and the story tells of him losing his eye and not bein able to box anymore. For the real Norman Snow my grandad this is totally untrue. I feel cheated for my grandad, and i came across this story by showing my son who is an amateur boxer my grandads records , i have my grandas belt on my wall and i am very proud of it but i think everyone should know what this man did and his family beleive he was the boxer norman Snow but he was definately not

Hi I believe my ancestors were brothers Jack and Joe Goodwin. They boxed in the 30s/40s I believe in East London. Their name was originally Goldstein but it was changed to Goodwin.
I dont know a lot else about them so if anyone could help i would really appreciate it.
Thanks Donna

G'day gents!
My relative was Charley ( Dinky ) White of Islington, London, who boxed in the 50's. I believe he was the cousin of my Grandfather and I am trying to trace and put our White family back together again. If anybody has any specific information on Dinky and his family please contact me - psi_fan@yahoo.com
